What is Greengridz?
At Greenmarking, we produce Greengridz®. But what is Greengridz? And how does it help to create a more sustainable future?

About Greengridz
Greengridz, our patented grid structure, is a versatile solution for all construction purposes. The construction is made from Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF). Greengridz is the perfect base for any sustainable construction. The innovative design has unique characteristics. It is lightweight, high-strength, non-warping, and environmentally friendly. The stiffness of the material increases exponentially compared to single-sheet material. Therefore, Greengridz is nearly unbreakable but stays light-weight.
Environmentally friendly construction panel
If you are looking for an environmentally friendly construction panel, Greengridz is more than the right choice; it is a responsible one. Greengridz is made from the MDF of MEDITE. What is MEDITE? This FSC-certified company is the main supplier of the MDF that we use. Because of its socially responsible and environmentally friendly harvesting method, MEDITE is FSC-certified. Its approach is characterized by thinning out forests instead of clear-cutting woodland. MEDITE stands for sustainable wood harvesting.
In addition to FSC, MDF is SCA Title VI/CARB compliant, meaning its formaldehyde emissions comply with the toughest regulations of the California Air Resources Board. Another critical certification that Greengridz carries is The Nordic Swan Ecolabel. This label sets strict requirements for the environmental impact of manufacturing and consumption of a product. Additional BREEAM and LEED certificates show Greengridz’s high sustainability performance and applicability in large-scale renovations and new property development.
Sustainable transport
The light weight of Greengridz panels is beneficial for efficient transportation. A truck can not be entirely filled with MDF panels because of the weight. This means that more trucks are needed to transport the wood, which results in more CO2-emission. But with Greengridz panels, their light weight means trucks can be filled up entirely. Therefore, we can transport Greengridz panels to our clients with low CO2 emission. At Greenmarking, we make more with air. By applying lightweight engineering principles, we turn solid panels into lightweight panels with a constructive composition.
Recycling Greengridz
At the end of its lifetime, a Greengridz panel can be returned to Greenmarking to be recycled. Pyrolysis is used to decompose the grid panel. Recycling releases some unintended products. But even these components are put to use at Greenmarking. With the pyrolysis process, high-quality carbon and warmth are released. The carbon is used for producing water- and air-filters, and buildings are heated with the released warmth. This makes Greengridz circular.
