What are BREEAM and LEED?
Greengridz® has been allocated multiple sustainability certificates and eco-labels. In addition, our construction panels stimulate the rating of sustainability certification methods. BREEAM and LEED are two quality labels for evaluating the sustainability of buildings. Greengridz contributes to obtaining those labels. This proves our lightweight construction panels contribute to a sustainable future. Using Greengridz kitchen countertops allows housing corporations to stand out from the competition.

What is BREEAM?
BREEAM is a Dutch sustainability certification method. It stands for Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method and has multiple eco-labels. The labels are used in more than 80 countries to rate sustainability performance. The new build label reviews the sustainability of new-building- and large-scale-renovation projects. Greengridz has proven to facilitate a healthy indoor climate. This is due to the use of sustainable materials with low environmental impact, and possibilities for recycling. Therefore, a kitchen countertop made of Greengridz is a great stimulus for achieving a BREEAM certification.
What is LEED?
Greengridz also contributes to obtaining the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. Like BREEAM, LEED-certified buildings are considered healthy, environmentally friendly, and cost-efficient. The LEED method provides a framework that is valuable for internationally operating construction companies because it is globally adopted.
Why do we use BREEAM and LEED?
Building according to BREEAM and LEED has various advantages, especially for housing corporations. This sector, like many others, needs to comply with national and global environmental legislation. The Paris Agreement and European Green Deal, for example, resulted in a mandatory 95% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2050 compared to the levels in 1990. Our environmentally friendly Greengridz panels provide a solution to this significant transition that has to be made. Sustainable construction panels preserve the planet’s resources for future generations and contribute to putting a stop to the throwaway society. Another benefit of Greengridz kitchen countertops for new-building and renovation projects is that sustainable buildings cut down on operational costs. A sustainability label can make a project receptive to governmental subsidies. BREEAM and LEED certificates make sustainability performance visible and measurable.
